You look younger than your age.

Hi all. Who does not like looking young? Everyone wants to look young especially Koreans. :) You look younger than your age. 당신은 동안 이네요. 당신은, dangsineun, you + suffix 동안, dongan, young looking face 이네요, yineyo, is 당신은 동안 이네요. dangsineun dongan yineyo. Thanks to Chinese influence we could have such a simple sentence with 동안. If we didn't have that word, I should have said 당신은 얼굴이 나이보다 어려 보이네요. Tell any Korean "동안 이네요", it will make them so happy even if they deny out of politeness. :) Bye for now.

Your skin looks so much better recently.

Hi all. TGIF! Do you have any plans for this weekend? I have a skin treatment tomorrow. I go to a new salon that I found recently and they use Guinot products. I never heard of them before but I started using cleansing milk from them. It was actually really nice and moisturises the skin really nicely. I plan to get some more products later. :) Your skin looks so much better recently. 요즘 피부가 엄청 좋아 보이는데요. 요즘, yosm, recently 피부가, pibuga, skin + suffix 엄청, umchung, greatly or extremely 좋아, joa, good (좋다) 보이는데요, boyinundaeyo, looks like (보이다) 요즘 피부가 엄청 좋아 보이는데요. yosm pibuga umchung joa boyinundaeyo. Do you remember when I said 완전 is a very informal expression? 엄청 is also a colloquial expression and it is '엄청' common. :) More formal equivalent would be 정말 or 매우. Hopefully my skin looks better after tomorrow too. :) Bye for now.

What if it never goes away?

Hi guys! We have the first female Prime Minister in Australia ! How great is that! :) She will be a great role model for young girls not just in Australia but around the world. I wish her all the best! While our new PM sort out the big issues, let's go back to my trivial problem. Hang on. Maybe it is not so trivial, if you consider acne could affect self-esteem. :( What if it never goes away? 영원히 안 없어지면 어쩌지요? 영원히, youngwonhee, forever (영원하다) 안, an, not 없어지면, upsojimyeon, disappear (없다) 어쩌지요, ajjuajiyo, what should I do (어찌하다) 영원히 안 없어지면 어쩌지요? youngwonhee an upsojimyeon ajjuajiyo? I covered a conditional case using -도 some time ago. -면 in today's sentence also has the similar meaning. I thought about the differences between two for the last 30 minutes! And my conclusion is if the sentence makes sense when you replace 'if' with 'when' -면 can be used. 시험에 떨어지면 어쩌지요? -> What should I do if/when I fail the exam? 시험에 떨어져도 괜찮아요? -> Is it OK even if I fail the ex...

Never ever squeeze it.

Hi guys, I think this could be easily one of the most difficult temptations to resist! Skin experts say never touch it. But when you look into the mirror and when a white head of a zit looks back at you, how can you not squeeze. You will have to have an absolute control over your mind. It is a challenge! :) You should never ever squeeze those pimples. 여드름을 절대로 짜면 안 돼요! 여드름을, yeodurumeul, pimple + suffix 절대로, jeoldaero, never 짜면, jjamyeon, squeeze (짜다) 안, an, not 돼요, dueyo, allowed or become (되다) 여드름을 절대로 짜면 안 돼요! yeodurumeul jeoldaero jjamyeon an dueyo! I already talked about 안 a few days ago. -면 안 돼요 means something is not allowed. On the contrary, -면 돼요 means it is OK or allowed to do something. 이것만 하면 돼요. -> Only need to do this. 오분만 공부하면 돼요. -> Only need to study for five minutes. 안 오면 안 돼요. -> Have to come. (double negative) 그만하면 안 돼요? -> Is it OK to stop? Bye for now.

There are natural treatments.

Hi! So I went to a pharmacy a few weeks ago and was recommended to use some tea tree scream to help with the acne. Tea tree oil is extracted from a Australian native tree. It does help with the infection from my experience. :) There are natural treatments such as tea tree cream. 티트리 크림 같은 자연 치료 방법이 있어요. 티트리, teatree, tea tree 크림, cream, cream 같은, gotton, such as or same as (같다) 자연, jayeon, natural 치료, chiryo, treatment 방법이, bangbupyi, method + suffix 있어요, yitsoyo, there is (있다) 티트리 크림 같은 자연 치료 방법이 있어요. teatree cream gotton jayeon chiryo bangbupyi yitsoyo. 같다 is an adjective means that two things are same or similar. There is an suffix that has similar meaning. It is 처럼(churum). But there is a subtle difference in the usage. When you use 처럼, you usually need to add another adjective to make it clear what aspect you are comparing. Compare these sentences. 그녀는 천사 같은 사람이다. -> She is like an angel. 그녀는 천사 처럼 착한 사람이다. -> She is as nice as an angel. 진짜 루이비통 같은 가방이다. -> This bag i...

The skin trouble is driving me crazy!

Hi. I have decided to talk about beauty this week. Hope it is OK with you. This subject is personal to me because I am suffering from an acne trouble lately. :( I don't know if it is caused by the stress or simply I am still juvenile? Whatever the cause is, it is literally driving me crazy! The skin trouble is driving me crazy! 피부가 안 좋아서 미치겠어요! 피부가, pibuga, skin + suffix 안, an, not 좋아서, joaso, good (좋다) 미치겠어요, michigetsoyo, going crazy (미치다) 피부가 안 좋아서 미치겠어요! pibuga an joaso michigetsoyo! 안 is a word that negates the word that follows it. It is actually a shortened form of 아니 meaning 'no'. You need to put a space between 안 and the following verb or adjective to be grammatically correct. However, when you read the sentence it should sound as if there is no space. i.e. anjoaso 안 춥다. -> not cold. 안 많다. -> not many. 안 간다. -> not going. 안 달다. -> not sweet If you are suffering even more you could say 죽겠어요 (jukgetsoyo, 죽다) instead of 미치겠어요. 죽겠어요 means that it is killing...

Min: 어제 영화관에서요. ooje younghwagwanaesoyo. Clare: 이 사진에 나는 정말 뚱뚱하게 나왔네요. yi sajinae naneun jeongmal ddongddonghage nawatneyo. Min: 아니에요! aniaeyo! Clare: 새로 찍어 줄래요? saero jjikoa julaeyo?
